242Hub is a professional and business network platform. For the purposes of data protection laws, 242Hub is the data controller in respect of personal data collected through the platform.

2.1 Information You Provide:
- Basic account data (name, email, phone number, password)
- Profile data (date of birth, gender, city, country, nationality, marital status, branch affiliation, church group memberships, year of membership)
- Professional data (job title, employer name, industry, years of experience, career status, qualifications, skills)
- Business data (business name, type, industry, description, address, website, role, country, year established, employee range, revenue, status)
- Network preferences (open to mentoring, seeking mentorship, open to peer networking, open to partnerships, open to referrals)
- Payment data (transaction references and payment history. Payment card details are handled directly by Paystack and are not stored by 242Hub)
2.2 Information Collected Automatically: We automatically collect log data (IP address, browser type, pages visited, time and date of access) and device data.
2.3 Information from Third Parties: We may receive data from Paystack (payment confirmation) or other authenticated third-party services you connect.
3. How We Use Your Data
We use personal data for the following purposes:
- To provide the platform (create and manage your account, display your profile to other members, facilitate connections)
- To process payments and verify membership status
- To communicate with you regarding updates, support requests, and platform events
- To ensure safety and integrity (investigate suspicious activity, enforce our Terms of Use)
- To improve the platform (analyze usage trends and optimize performance)
- To comply with legal obligations
4. Legal Basis for Processing
Where the GDPR applies, we process personal data on the following legal bases:
- Contract processing necessary to perform the membership agreement

- Consent, where you have given specific consent for a distinct processing activity
5. Directory Visibility & Your Controls
Your profile may appear in the 242Hub member directory. You have full control over your privacy settings and can choose which elements of your profile are visible to other members. You can update these settings at any time in your account dashboard.
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only in the following circumstances:
- With other members, in accordance with your visibility settings
- With Service Providers (e.g., payment processors, hosting providers, email delivery services)
- For legal requirements, if mandated by law or necessary to protect rights and safety
- In business transfers, if 242Hub undergoes a merger or acquisition
7. Data Retention
We retain personal data for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period thereafter to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. If you request account deletion, your profile will be removed from the active directory and your login credentials will be disabled so you can register again with the same email or phone if you choose. Membership, billing, support, and related operational records may be retained for audit and legal purposes.

The platform is intended for use by adult professionals (18+). We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under the age of 18.
